Disabled employment candidates reluctant to disclose disability

Posted on by admin

A report into the experience of disabled candidates seeking employment through recruitment agencies has found that many disabled people do not declare their disability at the recruitment stage for fear of it affecting their chances of being hired.

The research from The Clear Company found that 74.1% don’t disclose their disability due to ‘fear of not being offered a job’ and 32.8% reported that this fear is based on experience of previously declaring and being ruled out.
